It’s alarming so many politicians continue to spread the lie that the presidential election was “stolen.”
I doubt many of them believe this. They undermine our nation simply in order to gain power themselves.
Though the election was validated by 50 states, state and national courts and federal agencies, and though Congress rapidly certified the election after the riot, why did 147 members of Congress still vote to question the electors?
If they truly wish to stop the kind of anger and violence released on January 6, they need to renounce bogus claims and admit that the election was valid.
If Trump alone were making these outrageous claims, they would have died a natural death. Only because so many Republican officials took up the cause do millions of Americans believe this propaganda.
We are not out of danger yet. Facts matter. Truth matters. Politicians must exhibit integrity and step forward to calm this storm.
If not, let’s hold them accountable in court or in the next election.
