TUXEDO. Ceramics and donuts earn George F. Baker student Dunkin’ gift card
George F. Baker students enrolled in ceramics class recently completed their Personal Totem Project, where teacher Michelle Foligno challenged young artists to sculpt three to five objects that represent who they are.
Junior Evangeline Ortiz took her love for donuts to the next level —literally — by creating an impressive donut totem tower sculpture.
Carefully crafting the piece over five class sessions, Evangeline even designed a custom stand and used syringes to create the perfect sprinkle effect.
Wanting to share her work with the community, she decided to donate it to the Dunkin’ in Sloatsburg — and they loved it. The owner was so pleased that he surprised her class with a dozen free donuts and gave Evangeline a gift card.
Next time you stop for coffee at Dunkin’ in Sloatsburg, be sure to check out the masterpiece in person.
