The Monroe Historical Society will sponsor it's annual mine tour visiting the Mombasha Mine on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The tour will then visit the Greenwood Furnace in nearby Arden to learn what became of the ore taken from the mines in Monroe.
The tour will begin at 10 a.m. (Rain date on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m.).
Tour will begin at the Monroe Senior Center, 101 Mine Road, Monroe.
Reservations are not necessary and the tour is free to the public.
