When making your decision to vote for Monroe town councilpersons, I am supporting and encouraging you to vote for both Maureen Richardson and William Kazdan. Both have a strong desire to help Monroe become a better community. A community that understands we need senior housing, while at the same time understanding the need to balance it with traffic and water concerns. They both agree we need a new comprehensive plan. The CCR section of the current zoning code, that would have allowed 491 units to be built on Rye Hill Road, needs to be removed or changed to limit the number of units that can be built. Even though the Rye Hill project did not come to fruition, the current town zoning would still allow another high-density project to be built in another section of Monroe.
This is an important election that will determine the direction Monroe travels regarding high density housing. I know that Maureen and Bill will work hard for the betterment of Monroe. If you want your concerns addressed regarding overdevelopment, be sure to vote for Maureen Richardson and William Kazdan this November 7.
