Thanks to the 'everyday heroes' among us

Often times people in the community who go out of their way are unrecognized.

Faced with issues of budget, the Central Valley Elementary PTA had the opportunity to speak with the Woodbury PBA.

That conversation resulted in the PBA making a generous contribution which along with other donations from the community made the CVE fifth grade picnic less of a burden on an otherwise tight budget.

Not only did the PBA make a financial donation, Sgt. Kevin Watson donated his time grilling for the kids. Along with firefighter Cliff Ader, Sgt. Watson grilled for close to 200 students and teachers.

These two community members selflessly gave of their time for the second year in a row and the CVE PTA, along with the entire fifth grade, could not be more grateful.

These kind of actions give new definition to the term "everyday heroes" for the Woodbury PBA and the Woodbury FD have truly gone beyond the call of duty.

Thank you.
