‘Senator James Skoufis ... is fighting for the survival of our small businesses in the Hudson Valley’

Senator James Skoufis has proven himself to be a staunch advocate for his constituents.

He has continued to advocate for the communities he represents, especially during this unprecedented health and financial crisis caused by COVID-19.

I was very happy to learn that Senator Skoufis has co-sponsored Senate bill S8211A, which intends to hold insured businesses harmless for losses sustained during this pandemic.

For years these businesses paid insurance premiums, and now when they need the coverage, the insurance companies are nowhere to be found.

I agree with Senator Skoufis that those major insurance companies have used deceptive practices in the last few months, in order to avoid paying policyholders who experienced business interruption due to COVID-19.

Now more than ever we need to support our local businesses, who are truly the heart of our community. I support Senator James Skoufis, who is fighting for the survival of our small businesses in the Hudson Valley.
