Remembering Bob Schochet, cartoonist and friend

This editorial cartoon by Bob Schochet appeared in The Photo News during the summer of 1992, a time when drought-like conditions prompted municipalities to restrict water use.
I was saddened to read about the passing of Robert Schochet.
During the season of time when I was editor of The Photo News (1988-1993), I had the good fortune to have Bob draw cartoons about local news and the people and places of Monroe and Woodbury.
Bob was a well-known artist and drew for many magazines and publications.
And yet he gave his time and talent to our hometown paper.
He was always kind, always a gentlemen. I was so proud when later I moved to North Carolina, I saw a cartoon of his in the Saturday Evening Post.
But I was proud long before that to call Bob and his beautiful wife Linda my friends.
