Open letter to Senator James Skoufis

| 17 Jan 2019 | 05:05

As our Democrat-controlled state government is now poised to expand abortion laws and codify them indefinitely here in New York, I write this open letter to Honorable State Senator James Skoufis:
    Sir,
You were elected by a majority of voters in the 39th Senate District during a very turbulent political time in our district.
The first new town in New York State was created in nearly 40 years, a popular political grass-roots organization fell out of favor here in Monroe as quickly as it grew in power, and the very real possibility of a new village being created is on the horizon here in Monroe.
But sir, I could care less about any of these developments.
What I care about is protecting a child who happens to still reside in his or her mother’s womb.
I beg of you, sir, please vote against any legislation that will expand abortion in our state.
Allowing abortion in the third trimester is not progressive health care, its infanticide.
Senator Larkin was a strong advocate for life. I now hope and pray that you and your fellow state representatives follow in his footsteps.
Not only do I implore you to vote against any legislation that will expand abortion in our state, the child whose life may be terminated as a result of that legislation does as well.
(I also ask all of my friends in the State 39th Senate District to either call or email Senator Skoufis and ask him to defend life and not to support any further expansion of abortion laws in New York State.)
    Respectfully,
    Tom Lapolla
    Monroe
