O.C. Legislator James D. O’Donnell calls for Stephen Brescia’s resignation

Orange County Legislator James D. O’Donnell, a Republican and Conservative representing the Towns of Blooming Grove, Goshen and Wawayanda, plus the Village of Goshen, issued the following statement this weekend:

Legislator L. Stephen Brescia should resign immediately. His total disregard for the consequences of his actions are beyond comprehension and most importantly calls into question the sincerity of his original remorse and apology to the victim.

Sexual harassment in the workplace is no laughing matter.

As the brother to five sisters and proud father of five daughters, I am acutely aware of the struggles women must overcome in the workplace. Being passed over for promotions, pay inequality and sexual harassment are just a few that incredibly still exist today. As this case vividly makes clear.

For Legislator L. Stephen Brescia to release his letter of discipline, which brings further harassment and embarrassment to the victim, requires his immediate resignation.
