To my fellow residents of Monroe:
Last Saturday was such an awesome day in the Village of Monroe with Santa and Mrs. Claus landing by helicopter, children screaming in the spirit of the holidays, horses and wagon trotting through our streets and children caroling songs from Christmas past at Rest Haven.
Rest Haven would like to take this moment to thank the people who made it possible.
We thank Mayor Dwyer and the Village Board of Trustees, the Monroe Police Department, the Monroe Fire Department, the Monroe Ambulance Corps, Smith's Clove Park, Monroe Free Library, Monroe-Woodbury School Music Department (String Quartets, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensembles and Carolers), Daisy Troop 142, Girl Scout Troop 332, Girl Scout Troop 462, Girl Scout Troop 640, Brookfields Farm of Goshen, C. Rowe & Farm Inc of Campbell Hall, Independent Helicopter LLC of Newburgh, Tony Cosimano of Warwick, Warwick Valley Dispatch and Majestic Limousine.
Special thanks goes out to all the board members and friends for the Preservation of Rest Haven who worked tirelessly: Pamela Lee, Susan Salo, Steven R. Navarro, James Manual, Donald "Doc" Bayne, Patricia Bayne, April Lynn Mitts, Timothy and Patricia Babcock of Sugar Loaf, Lawrence Kilduff, Manuel Velazquez and Mathew and Victoria Della-Peruta Gabay.
Without all these individuals and many many more this past weekend could never have been so successful.
In the end, my fellow Monroe residents, keep the spirit and enjoy the season. Happy Holidays.
Timothy Mitts
