Josh Scherer announces his candidacy for Tuxedo Park Village Board

My name is Josh Scherer and I am a Village Trustee candidate in the upcoming election.

Together with my wife (Rowena) and two children (Justin – 17, Ashley – 14), I have lived in Tuxedo Park for the last 12 years. I am a member of the Village Police Reform Commission, the Village Planning Board and a Governor of The Tuxedo Club.

My professional background is in finance. I have been a career investment banker, having started as a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch after graduating from Middlebury College with a BA in economics in 1994.

Currently, I am a Founding Partner at Ducera Partners, a boutique investment bank with offices in New York and Los Angeles and approximately 50 employees.

My professional background will help me succeed if I have the privilege of serving as your Trustee.

As a professional and as a public servant, I hold myself accountable, I value transparency and I listen carefully with the sole purpose of fulfilling my fiduciary mandate, which I will continue to do as a Village Trustee.

The Trustee position should not be political as we all have the same objectives: clean lake water (which includes eliminating the Eurasian Water Milfoil), fixing and upgrading our aging infrastructure (the water and sewage systems), containing expenditures and finding ways to increase revenues without raising taxes.

There are differing perspectives on how each of these objectives can be achieved. Still, we can only make progress if there is constructive, respectful and open discussion based on facts, data, analysis, and input from subject matter experts.
