As the Town Supervisor, my objective has been to ensure we are always engaging with our Senior Citizens. Whether it is at our Monday Ice Cream social, regardless of the weather, or when we have the infamous potluck celebration monthly. I, along with other town council members, some town police officers head on over to serve food and sweets to our beloved Senior Citizens. The laughter and smiling faces warm our hearts.
This is why I wanted to work on elevating the offerings at the Senior Center. I promoted Alex Arriaga to Senior Citizens Activity Leader and brought in Aleah Camilo as another Senior Citizens Activity Leader who has extensive experience in social work and caring for seniors. The two together will bring exhilarating events as they work together at the center.
While having a touch base meeting I realized the team at the Senior Center were not able to obtain any entertainment for our St. Patrick’s Day event. I quickly got on the phone and called the Orange County Sheilds Group to request their Pipes and Drums for our festivities.
They came over on Monday, March 17, and they were fabulous.
The seniors danced, laughed and the joy they experienced was priceless.
