Comments from the blogs: ‘This is not a Democrat or Republican thing. This is a health crisis’
A blogger who identified himself as Chris posted the following in response to a story in last week’s paper, “Enough is enough.”
The story was quoted Republican state legislators who criticized Gov. Kathy Hochul’s Dec. 10 annoucement that masks will be required to be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement.
Chris wrote:
Mask mandates wouldn’t be necessary if more states had a higher vaccination percentage.
If the vaccination rate was better maybe delta and the omnicom variant wouldn’t be able to infect so many.
If people would just wear a mask, social distance and take the precautions necessary then maybe COVID would not be increasing in many places, including Orange County.
While wearing a mask is an inconvenience, don’t these two Republicans believe that maybe the coronavirus has taken enough lives?
If the unvaccinated would have just continued to wear a mask because they did not get vaccinated, maybe we wouldn’t need a mandate.
But unfortunately they didn’t.
So here we go again. The rate is going up on getting infected.
How about we all do the right thing wear a mask social distance and get the vaccine and then the booster.
And please, this is not a Democrat or Republican thing. This is a health crisis.
