Stacy Boyce, Julieanne Littmann and Joanne Smith inducted into M-W Cross Country Hall of Fame
CENTRAL VALLEY — Stacy Boyce, Julieanne Littmann and Joanne Smith have been inducted into the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Cross Country Hall of Fame.
The annual awards dinner took place at Bocci's in Monroe on Dec. 20.
There is a five-year waiting period after graduation before candidates for the Hall of Fame are considered.
The career of each inductee is analyzed in comparison to course times on cross country venues that have been raced for the past 30+ years, Most athletes have top 10 performances on a variety of historic courses.
Also, inductees are compared with others for individual championships on numerous competitive levels (county, section, state and federation titles and/or finishes).
Lastly ,the selection committee weighs some intangibles like leadership, impact on team standings, commitment, standout/impact specific performances and work ethic.
Boyce, who was unable to attend the dinner, attended Towsen State University in Maryland.
Littmann attended Clemson University in South Caroline.
Smith attended College of St. Rose in Albany.
