Slate Hill. Monroe-Woodbury defeats Minisink Valley 67-46 in boys varsity basketball
Last Friday night, Jan. 27, the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders traveled to Minisink Valley to face the Warriors in a boys varsity basketball game.
The Crusaders entered the game with a 8-4 record after dropping their last game to Washingtonville 43-34.
The Warriors came into the game with a 2-9 record after losing to Goshen 60-28.
The Warriors jumped out to a three-point first quarter lead but Crusader Kyle McDermott scored eight of his 15 points in the game to keep the Crusaders within striking distance.
In the second quarter, Darrel Davis scored six of his 12 points in the game as the Crusaders stormed back and pulled to 27-22 half time lead.
Jankarlos Mendoza took over in the third quarter, scoring eight of his 16 points and the Crusaders pulled away to a 49-34 lead.
In the final quarter with the Crusaders in control Davis scored six more points as the Crusaders rolled to 67-46 victory.
The Crusaders’ victory brings their season record to 9-4.
Their next game is scheduled against the Warwick Wildcats.
