Several children from the Monroe area were named local champions of the 2023 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.
Monroe Council 2079 sponsored the local competition at the Sacred Heart School gymnasium. All youngsters ages 9 to 14 were eligible to participate.
Raul Palomino battled it out to capture the title as the boy’s 11-year-old champion after a a tie-breaker shoot-out.
Jared Rombo was crowned the champion of the 12-year-old boy’s division.
Luke Postolowski was victorious in the boy’s 13-year-old division.
There were no participants for the other divisions.
Each contestant was allowed 15 free-throw attempts in the contests.
