— Michael Nastu, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Boys Soccer team coached by Pat Bulla, has been selected as the high school’s “Athlete of the Week” for the period ending Oct. 26.

Michael, a senior and captain, has been an integral part of the varsity soccer program for the past three years.

“He has been a key defensive player for the Crusaders at the sweeper position and he is recognized throughout the OCIAA soccer league as a premier player for Section 9,” Monroe-Woodbury Athletic Director Ron Montalto said in his press release announcing the selection.

“Mike has greatly contributed to the Crusaders 11-3-2 record and he continues to work hard for team and personal success,” Montalto added. “Mike is looking forward to successful post-season play.”
