Lightning strikes again

CHESTER — The Monroe-Woodbury Lightning Travel Baseball Team participated in the “Wood Bat Battle” Aug. 22-23 at The Rock Sports Park in Chester.

The two-day tournament pitted The M-W Lightning against teams from Fishkill, Beach Lake PA., Flemington, N.J., and Bergen County, N.J.

Excellent pitching (including a no-hitter), held the opposition to 18 runs over five games. The Lightning scored 35 runs.

Powerful clutch hitting and sharp defense ensured victories in all five games.

Last year, the Lightning won the 9U crown.

• The champion players are: Brendan McEntyre, Kavan Tuttle, Josh Jaeger, Owen White, Freddie Ocasio, AJ Zollo, Dylan Palmieri, Ethan Acevedo, Alex Exarchakis and John Guerrera.

• Head Coach Mike Tuttle was assisted by Anthony Zollo, John McEntyre and Shane White.
