Jared Bulson and Jennifer Lawson shared 'Athlete of the Week' honors
CENTRAL VALLEY — Jared Bulson, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Baseball team coached by Chris Vero, and Jennifer Lawson, a member of the Crusaders' Varsity Softball team coached by Mary Donnelly, are the "Athletes of the Week" for the period ending May 22, Athletic Director Rob Montalto has announced.
Jared Bulson
Jared, a senior, has been a member of the Varsity Baseball team for two years.
This season has been a breakout season for Jared, earning the number one spot in the pitching rotation.
His work ethic has been outstanding and he has set a great example for the younger pitchers on the staff.
Jared has posted a 1.27 ERA in seven starts on the mound this season for the Crusaders.
He has only allowed eight earned runs in 44 innings while striking out 55 batters.
Jared’s hard work on and off the field has led to an offer and acceptance of an athletic scholarship next year to play baseball at SUNY Orange.
Jennifer Lawson
Jennifer, a sophomore, plays center field and has had four flawless putouts this week.
At the plate, she went 4 for 8 with a double and two triples.
Jennifer had two key RBI’s in the win against Cornwall.
Her batting average currently stands at .271 and her on-base percentage is .300.
Jennifer also pitches and is a utility infielder when needed.
