Crusaders face NFA in Newburgh this Friday night

CENTRAL VALLEY — The 6-0 Monroe-Woodbury Crusades travel to Newburgh Friday evening to face 4-2 Newburgh Free Academy in a conference game.
Monroe-Woodbury comes off a 27-14 homecoming victory against Kingston Tigers last Friday. The NFA Goldbacks hope to bounce back from their 41-0 loss to Pine Bush.
Pine Bush fell 24-7 to the Crusaders on Sept. 28.

By the numbers

Offense: Here are some statistics from last Friday’s game:

Kevin Carr completed 9 of 18 passes for 108 yards and one touchdown.
Justin Kaffenberger caught seven of those passes, including the touchdown, for a total of 101 yards.
The offense rushed for 286 yards on 45 carries. Carr totaled 123 yards and scored three times; Mark Tooma carried 16 times for 97 and Kaffenberger had five carries for 66.

Defense: The Crusader defense held the Kingston Tigers to 19 yards on the ground on 19 carries. Kingston quarterback Pat Dorrian, a junior like Carr, completed 21 of 36 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown.
The defense registered 55 tackles, including 30 solo stops. The Crusaders also had five quarterback sacks - three by Kenny Fee and two by Rob Kelly. The total tackles by player were:
