Central Valley. No hits. 15 Ks. 7-0 Crusader softball victory
On Monday afternoon, April 17, the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Softball Team hosted the Tigers of Kingston in an important league match up.
The Crusaders came into the game with a 4-3 record after beating Goshen 4-0 in their last game.
The Tigers came into the game with a 2-3 record after losing to Newburgh 14-11 in their last game.
The Tigers never had a chance.
Crusader pitcher Valerie Pederson tossed a seven-inning no hitter, striking out 15 while allowing only two walks.
Pederson’s work on the mound and at the plate have been key to the Crusaders’ success so far this season.
The Crusaders offense was led by Arianna Exarchakis who had three hits and two RBI’s in the game.
She was helped out by Eryan Coyle and Olivia Shippee both with hits and Allyson Havercamp who had a hit and an RBI in the game.
The Crusaders’ 7-0 victory over the Tigers brings their record to 5-3 on the season. They will travel to Washingtonville to face the Wizards for their next game.
