On Tuesday afternoon, April 27, the Crusaders boys and girls track teams finally got to hold their first meet in over a year as they took on Pine Bush High School.

The teams missed last year’s season due to the pandemic so it was really nice to see Crusaders get on to their new track and face some competition.

The Crusader women won by a 111-29 score while the men’s team came away with a 103-37 victory.

Crusader Kaylen Tenemille took first place in the 100 and 200 meter dash with times of 13:37 and 27:36 respectively.

Crusaders, Ava Turner’s time of 1:06.11 gave her a first in the 400 Meter and Emily Jibb’s 2:44.58 got her a first in the 800 meter.

Mia Sisilli took second in the 1,500 while Samantha Apostolico’s time of 12:09.33 gave her first in the 3,000 meter run.

Yasmine Peralta swept 100 and 400 meter hurdles with times of 18:75 and 1:13.73 for the Crusaders and then added a first in the high jump clearing 4-08.

The Crusader relay team of Tenemille, McDermott, Alexandre and Johnson captured first in the 4x100 meter relay and the 4 x 800 meter team of Sisilli, Bennett, Apostolico and Molino also finished first.

Crusader Alicia Johnson won the pole vault clearing 10-06 and the long jump with a jump of 15 feet. Abigail McCleary came in second in the girl’s triple jump going 28-05.00.

Crusader Griffin Bosco threw the shot put 29-09.00 and Laila Mustafa discus throw of 67-10 gave both of them first’s.

On the boys side Camron Adams took first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:20 and then took first in the high jump clearing 5-04.

Brennan Frascello’s time of 23:94 gave him first in the 200 meter he also captured first in the 400 with a time of 51.74.

Keith Allen won the 800 meter with a time of 2:06.49; he also took first in the long jump going 17-09.

Tyler Anderson captured first in the 1,600 in 4:46.24 and Colin Catherwood’s time of 10:37.89 gave him first in the 3,200.

Nicholas Gutierrez took first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 19.06 and finished second in the 400 meter hurdles.

In the relays Crusaders Rivera, Spears, Vivaldo-Rojas and Adams took the 4x100, Allen, Frascello, Hala and Vivaldo-Rojas took the 4x400 and Allen, Anderson, Howell and Bezdicek won the 4x800.

Noah Rivera won the triple jump going 41-05. Romero Warren’s shot put throw of 39-09.00 gave him first place for the Crusaders.
