Central Valley. M-W honors the nine seniors on the Boys Varsity Basketball team
On Thursday afternoon, Feb. 25, Crusader Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach Jim Hahn and the parents of the nine seniors on this year’s team made arraignments to honor the Seniors on this years basketball team.
Although their senior season has been lost due to the safety concerns over the ongoing pandemic, the coach and the parents wanted these athletics to feel their love and to honor their participation in the basketball program over the last few years.
The nine seniors on this year’s basketball team were given posters and gifts and photographed with their families in the gym.
On Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27, the team got the chance to play its only game of the season. The athletes were given permission to have a Senior Game so with officials and the scorers table maned and the scoreboard on the 19 players were broken down into two teams.
In a very conceptive game the White team defeated the Purple team 54-45 to take the Senior game honors.
Although parents and fans were not allowed to attend in person, the Monroe-Woodbury School district streamed the game live so fans could watch the Crusader Seniors take the court one last time.
Hopefully by the time that next year rolls around the Crusader basketball team will be able to take the court in front of a packed house and battle for a Section 9 Title.
