Warwick. Warwick man charged in assault case

    The Town of Warwick Police Department is investigating an assault at a residence in which a 26-year-old Highland Mills man was stabbed multiple times.

    Warwick Police Lt. John D. Rader issued the following press release on Sunday afternoon, July 5:

    On Saturday, July 4, at approximately 9:50 p.m., there was gathering at 60 Feagles Road in the Pine Island section of Warwick when a domestic between two family members started.

    The victim was not directly involved in the domestic; however, he tried to intervene as it escalated.

    Officers responded to the residence and found the man inside, bleeding severely and receiving first aid by a witness.

    Police arrested Peter J. Fazio, 32, of 60 Feagles Road, at the residence. He was charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Both are violent felonies based upon prior convictions.

    The victim was taken to St. Anthony Community Hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.

    The incident was investigated by the Town of Warwick Police Department Detective Unit and the New York State Police ID Unit.

    Fazio was awaiting arraignment at the time of this press release.
