Chester Police report stabbing
Chester. The victim is said to be in critical condition.

The Town of Chester Police Department recently reported a stabbing at a residence on Lake Region Boulevard that reportedly took place August 1. According to the police report, at around 4:30 p.m. that day, officers responded to a call about a man covered in blood on a rear deck at the residence. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the 43-year-old victim was bleeding from a chest wound from what appeared to be a stab wound.
Chester police were aided by members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Village of Monroe Police Department and performed lifesaving measures on the victim before transporting him to Garnet Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery to repair the damage. The victim is currently listed in critical condition.
Authorities investigated the alleged stabbing with assistance from the NY State Police and their Forensic Identification Unit. According to the police report, the victim had been involved in an argument with his son at their residence. He was injured during the argument and ran from his residence seeking assistance from his neighbors for his injuries. He was located by responding officers behind a residence across the street from where he lives.
Jayden Rivers, 18, of Chester was immediately located and detained at his residence in connection with the stabbing, per the Chester PD. He was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, a felony. He was arraigned in City of Middletown Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $250K cash bail or $500K secured bond.
Earlier this year Rivers was also arrested on the charges of forcible touching and stalking in the third degree. For those charges Rivers was arraigned and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash, $2,000 insurance bond, or a $5,000 10% partially secured bond, and was issued a “stay away” order of protection from two victims.
