Area fire companies knock out Washingtonville house fire
Washingtonville. In additional to the local fire house, firefighters from Goshen, Monroe, and Woodbury also responded.
On Wednesday, March 6, at around 3:40 p.m., fire companies from around the region responded to Shaw Road in Washingtonville to help extinguish a house fire. Initially, fire departments from Washingtonville, Salisbury Mills, and Vails Gate responded.
Upon their arrival, a second alarm was transmitted by Washingtonville Fire Chief Chris VanRiper. According to the fire department’s report, the main body of the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes, and firefighters were on the scene for just under three hours making sure the entirety of the fire was out.
Washingtonville was assisted by Walton Engine & Hose Co., South Blooming Grove Fire Department, Maybrook Fire Department, Coldenham Fire Department, Campbell Hall Fire Department, Goshen Fire Department, Woodbury Fire Department, Newburgh Fire Department, Monroe Fire Department, Montgomery Fire Department, New Windsor Fire Department, and New Windsor EMS.
