The public is invited to the be part of the Quasquicentennial Ceremony, marking the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Village of Monroe, on Saturday, Aug. 3, from noon to 1 p.m. at Village Hall at 7 Stage Road. Village officials have a series of events celebrating the anniversary throughout the year. Among them will be retrospectives on people and events that shaped the community since 1894.
