Alison Melita Briggs of Monroe, daughter of Antoinette and Thomas Briggs, was awarded a bachelor of arts degree cum laude in Philosophy from Bryn Mawr College. Tapped for the spring 2004 Dean's List at Alfred State College were John Lenny Jr., a Mechanical Engineering Tech major from Highland Mills, and Brandon Mendelson, an Individual Studies major from Monroe. Katherine T. Duffy of Monroe received a BSCE degree during May commencement ceremonies at the University of Vermont. Duffy was a Civil Engineering major in the College of Engineering & Math. Daniel H Levine of Monroe has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. Levine, a member of Clark University's Class of 2006 who studies English, attended Monroe Woodbury Senior High School. Ashley Morgan of Monroe, a senior at Monroe Woodbury High School, received a certificate for completing Quinnipiac University's TV News Institute. She was one of 26 high school students who attended the TV News Institute at the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center at Quinnipiac from July 12-16. Students learn how to write news stories,shoot video, edit and produce with the help of news professionals from various Connecticut news stations. Andrea Fugazot, a senior at Monroe-Woodbury High School, participated in the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. from July 5 - 15.
