Warwick. Mount Peter Ski Area to open soon for this 2021-2022 winter season
Good news for skiers and snowboarders: Mt. Peter Ski area began making snow in late November and could open as early as this weekend, Dec. 11-12.
But that’s still up to Mother Nature since even with Mt. Peter’s extraordinary snow-making capability and excellent grooming; the snow guns require low temperatures to do the job.
But when that happens, Mount Peter Ski Area will open for 2021-2022, and what will be the ski area’s 86th season.
Mount Peter is the oldest operating ski area in New York State, and one of only a few remaining family-operated ski areas in America.
New for this season will be a brand new and very large rental building. The ticket and customer service offices will now be at a different location to offer a streamlined process for skiers and snowboarders.
And there is a new software system to make online purchasing easy so that lift tickets, lessons and rentals can all be purchased before coming to the ski area.
As soon as conditions permit, Mt. Peter will also open its multi-lane 600-foot tubing run that is also equipped with a carpet lift. Booking online for this popular ride is highly recommended.
