— Teenage suicide has impacted many communities, including the Monroe-Woodbury community. Justin T. Dimino was in his junior year at Monroe-Woodbury High School in 2011 when he died.

According to Justin's family, he was a boy who lit up the room with his smile and personality. Justin was the starting defensive back for the Championship Crusader Football Team at Monroe-Woodbury High School. Football was the love of his life, as was his family and friends.

The second annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Memorial Walk will be held on Saturday, June 15, at the Monroe-Woodbury High School track to benefit the Justin T. Dimino Memorial Scholarship Fund. The walk in Justin's memory will help create awareness and prevention of suicide.

Through the Justin T. Dimino Memorial Scholarship Fund, a scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating member of the varsity football team at Monroe-Woodbury High School who has achieved a B average or greater and meets other criteria.

The fund is a component charitable fund of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. This fund was created by Justin's family to honor and memorialize Justin who died on Jan. 9, 2011 at the age of 16.

"Justin will forever hold a special place in all our hearts," said Justin's mother, Stephanie Stack.

Costs to participate are $10 for students over 12, $20 for adults. It's free for kids under 12.

Free T-shirts will be given for the first 200 paid registered walkers. T-shirts will be available for sale for $10 on the day of the event. Sponsorships are available for $100, $250 and $500.
