More than 500 people attended the Monroe Girl Scout Unit's annual 'Pumpkin Blaze' on the back grounds of Sacred Heart School in Monroe on Oct. 24, with about 300 pumpkins lighting up the darkness. Carved by Girl Scouts, their families and community members, the pumpkins were in various shapes and sizes with a wide range of carved looks. The pumpkins were on public display as part of the service unit's community service initiatives.
