CENTRAL VALLEY — Honoring a pledge made last year, members of the Monroe Woodbury Rotary Club delivered 120 new winter coats to Monroe Woodbury School District Social worker Denise Guerriero.

With 96 Operation Warm jackets for elementary and middle school students and 24 Sherpa-type hoodies from Old Navy, the Rotary Club was able to more than triple last years’s donation.

This project will continue from year to year because, Guerriero has told club members, the need continues to grow.

M-W Rotary Club raises funds all year for this project. UNO’s Chicago Grill was a valued partner in this effort, holding “Doughraisers” to benefit Operation Warm. A donation of $20 will buy a new coat for a child in the district.

The Rotary is hosting a breakfast with Santa at UNO's this coming Saturday, Dec. 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Donations also may be made at any time at www.mwrotary.org. Just note Operation Warm in the comments section.
