Clouds Movie Review
By 8th Grader Joanna Rodriguez Leon:
This past month I have been watching many movies but one that has stuck to me is Clouds. Clouds is a movie about a boy who has been diagnosed with cancer. I don’t want to say much because I’ll spoil it but let me tell you, it’s a tear jerker. I enjoyed this movie because it really portrayed his story really well. The actors in the movie were great and the music in the movie was also great. This movie really inspired me to live every day to the fullest because you never know what’s going to happen the next. I give this movie a 5/5. You can find this movie on Disney+.
A great experience with Villa Positano
By 6th Grader Callie Catalano
Even though there are many good pizza restaurants in our area, my family and I prefer Villa Positano. They have a really friendly atmosphere if we were to dine in, but they also have pickup and delivery. This past Friday my grandma was visiting and we decided to order our dinner from there. They have an extensive menu but we all were in the mood for pizza. One of the reasons we are drawn to Villa Positano is for their gluten free pizza. My brother has an allergy to wheat and they make sure the food is safe for him to eat. Personally, I like their pepperoni pizza because their crust is not too thick nor thin. My dad’s favorite pizza is their Sicilian pizza and he says it’s the best in town. My mom prefers their Fagioli because it is super garlicky. Everyone there seems to be really nice and we’ve only had good experiences with them.
A modern take on a classic, Black Beauty movie teview
By 8th Grader Elena Motta
Black Beauty a famous and classic movie has just been remade to be a modern movie. The movie’s storyline is still the same although some changes have been made. The many actors in the movie do an amazing job by bridging the story to life. Disney has once again done a tremendous job making another classic movie more relatable to today.
‘10 Things I Hate About You’ movie review
By 7th Grader Olivia Houle
Romance. Comedy Suspense! These are all traits 10 Things I Hate About You has! 10 Things I Hate About You is a movie from the late 90s, and if you like movies from that time, you are going to love this one! 10 Things I Hate About You is based off of the Shakespeare play “The Taming of The Shrew,” now I don’t know about you, but I’m not really all that into Shakespeare, but that’s alright, because 10 Things I Hate About You doesn’t feel like it is based off of a play! It stars Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and so many more amazing actors and actresses! The movie is about a new boy at school, Cameron, who falls in love with the girl who is not allowed to date, Bianca. Her father is very overprotective of her and her sister, Kat. Although, he changes the rules of dating and says Bianca can date when Kat does! So, Cameron pays Patrick, a troublemaker, to take out Kat, but Patrick slips up when he accidentally falls for her! 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my favorite movies! What can I say, I’m a sucker for romance movies! I definitely recommend this, and hope you enjoy it! Have an amazing day!
Lovebites Chocolate Shoppe Review
By 7th Grader Olivia Houle
Have you ever seen the movie, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’’? I have and I love it! Sometimes, I wish that we had a chocolate shop like that, but guess what, we do! It’s called Lovebites Chocolate Shoppe!
Lovebites is a chocolate shop near the ponds in downtown in Monroe. They not only have chocolates, but they also have shakes, ice cream, brownies, and more!
All of the chocolates are homemade! They have chocolate covered chips, chocolate covered gummy bears, chocolate covered Oreos, whatever they can cover with chocolate they have. They have candies you won’t find in supermarkets. They have custom ice cream cakes.
They were voted Hudson Valley Magazine winner for “Best Over the Top Shake.” They have over 20 flavors of shakes, such as, Nutella, Reese’s, Kit-Kat, Shark Attack, Black Raspberry, and more!
The decoration on the outside of the shop is very colorful and eye catching, and the inside is even better! There are two sides of the shop: the chocolate shop side, and the cafe side. The service is wonderful. The employees and owner are all a pleasure to be around, and they are all very polite.
We interviewed the owner and one of the employees, who shared with us, “It’s very fun working at a chocolate shop.” He said, “We have over 20 shakes.” The owner, Christine Scancarello, shared, “My son had motivated me to open this shop, he had been sick.” She states, “We opened this shop, to well, be successful!”
We definitely recommend going to Lovebites Chocolate Shoppe!
