Remembering the fallen

Cloudy skies and cool weather Sunday didn't dampen the spirits of those who honored the service men and women who died while serving their country.
The Town of Monroe's annual Memorial Day parade stepped off on Sunday afternoon, weaving its way through town and ending up at the Community Cemetery along Route 17M.
While organizers felt parade watchers were fewer in numbers than in previous years, the spirit and solemnness of the holiday were apparent in all who were there.
