Putting for a purpose pays off
TOWN OF WALLKILL – More than $80,000 was raised May 14 at the Wallkill Golf Club May as more than 100 golfers hit the greens for a good cause, the Third Annual Bon Secours Community Hospital, St. Anthony Community Hospital and Provident Bank Spring Golf Classic.
Proceeds from the 18-hole scramble will help buy state-of-the-art medical equipment and improve facilities at the two Orange County hospitals. Golfers designated which hospital would benefit by their participation.
Provident Bank, the regions largest community bank, underwrote the event.
Tournament co-chairs were Warwick auto dealer Frank Petrucci of Country Chevrolet and Bon Secours board member Steve Albanese of Access Physical Therapy and Wellness, which has facilities in Montgomery, Port Jervis, Milford, Monroe, Goshen, Wallkill, Armonk and Bedford.
Crothall Services Group and MedExcel USA sponsored the grand reception at the end of the day. Golfers were treated to lunch and dinner; the golfers breakfast and a gift were provided by Morrison Healthcare Food Services.
This years hole-in-one prize was a choice of a 2013 Ford Fusion or a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco – compliments, respectively, of Warwick auto dealers Leo Kaytes Ford and Country Chevrolet.
Major tournament sponsors included Ramapo Anethesiologists, Highland Associates, NY Radiology Alliance, Warwick Anethesia, Med World Pharmacy and Apollo Security.
