PPS/SEPTA present ‘Choose Love’ family event on Oct. 30
Scarlett Lewis, mother of Sandy Hook Elementary School victim 6-year-old Jesse, has worked tirelessly for the past six years spreading the “Choose Love” message around the world.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.mm. in the high school auditorium, Lewis will be offering a free presentation open to the public based on “Choose Love” social emotional initiative.
As today’s youth face many challenges including bullying, mental illness, substance abuse and more, Lewis speaks to the importance of social emotional learning and how parents and schools can work together to love and support young people.
Monroe-Woodbury is incorporating the “Choose Love” curriculum at the K-8 level throughout the district.
According to the “Choose Love” website:
Choose Love has been effective in cultivating a kind, caring and loving environment for students to thrive. In fact, in our latest survey* of Choose Love educators reported that:
85 percent of students get along better;
91 percent of students have a more positive attitude; and
94 percent said their students enjoyed the program.
The Choose Love Formula teaches children essential life skills.
