Pine Tree students support Hudson Valley SPCA
MONROE — Pine Tree Elementary third-grader Julian Gladwin has always been an animal lover and a few months ago came up with the idea to get his school involved in an animal food and supply drive.
The result?
The school collected more than 600 items, including dog food, blankets, kitty litter and cleaning supplies. Those items have been donated to the Hudson Valley SPCA in New Windsor.
Three car loads of supplies delivered the supplies to the shelter.
The school rewarded 150 students in the top supply collecting classes with a pizza party from Big Mike’s Pizza in Monroe.
“All of the students and families who donated items are to be congratulated,” said Pine Tree Principal Bryan Giudice, about the success of the school’s animal food and supply drive.
