Pilgrims from Monroe joined March for Life in Washington, D.C.

MONROE — On Friday, Jan. 19, six buses left Orange County to make a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., for the March for Life to join with more than 100,000 others.
The bus from Sacred Heart in Monroe and St. Anastasia in Harriman left Sacred Heart at 5 a.m. with 44 pilgrims aboard and returned at 11:30 p.m.
"It was a beautiful day with the temperature in the high 50's which is a welcomed change when you look back at the weather for the last few years," recounted Rich Strobel, the Respect Life Coordinator for Sacred Heart and St. Anastasia. "The speakers were terrific with President Trump leading the way; Vice President Pence and Speaker of the House Ryan joined in as well as other inspiring speakers.
"It was a prayerful and peaceful march with pilgrims from as far away South Dakota, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Texas and most states in between attending," Strobel added. "It was great with the majority of pilgrims were young adults and children which was very encouraging for future of the pro life movement."
