Household hazardous waste collection
The next household hazardous waste collection event sponsored by Orange County is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the picnic area in Thomas Bull Memorial Park located at 90 Grove Street in Campbell Hall.
Please adhere to the following COVID-19 protocols:
Only one person per vehicle is recommended;
Show proof of ID through a closed window; and
If possible please leave containers in the back trunk or truck bed of your vehicle.
Containers will not be returned.

The carnival is coming

School supply drive
The Monroe PBA is accepting donations of school supplies now through Aug. 25 at the police department, 104 Stage Road. Items needed include: back packs, reusable lunch bags, Ticonderoga #2 pencils, folders, Marble notebooks (wide ruled), glue stocks, 24-count crayons, markers (8-10 count), colored pencils, scissors, soft pencil cases, 9x12 clipboards, headphones (no earbuds), 3x3 Post-Its. Park meeting rescheduled
The July 26 Monroe Joint Park & Recreation Commission monthly meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, Aug. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Smith’s Clove Park meeting room at 133 Spring St. in Monday. For information, call 783-9108.
Live concert series
The American Legion Post #488 presents three upcoming Saturday concerts: Hudson Blue on Aug. 14, Time Piece on Sept. 18, and Floyd Pink on Oct. 2. All concerts take place at 532 Lakes Road from 2-6 p.m. Admission is $10. Food and drink available. Bring a chair or blanket.
Win a Harley
The first annual Orange County Motorcycle Raffle is underway. Club Kid at the Y
The South Orange Family YMCA at 45 Gilbert Street will be offering before- and after-school programs for Monroe elementary school students, and an after-school program for middle school students aged 13 and under. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, games, group projects, homework/study time, and snacks.
