Neuhaus announces 2024 municipal tourism grants
Goshen. Grants of up to $4,999 may be awarded to municipalities based upon need.
For the second year in a row, Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus and the County’s Tourism and Film Office will begin the Municipal Tourism Grant program, which will assist municipalities with additional funding as they plan and execute tourism initiatives.
“These grants will help our towns, villages and cities promote and highlight some of the great events that they offer throughout the year,” Neuhaus said. “Orange County has many popular events that generate interest and revenue, and this allows us to show our support and invest in our communities. Building upon last year’s successful grant program, we look forward to receiving applications from our municipalities and continuing the promotion of our beautiful county.”
Applications will be sent to Orange County’s municipal leaders and will be accepted until Oct. 1. Grants of up to $4,999 will be awarded to municipalities based upon need and application approval. Recipients must use the funds provided for promotion or execution of a tourism event and/or activity that will result in the attraction of visitors to the county. Only municipalities may apply.
Examples of how grant funds can be used include advertising and promotion expenses associated with an event or activity, enhancement of signage and marketing for an event or activity or website upgrades to make it more user-friendly. Applications will be reviewed by the Municipal Tourism Grant Program Committee, consisting of economic development and tourism professionals from Orange County.
