Montgomery. New York Air Show set for Aug. 28 and 29 at Orange County Airport
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds jet demonstration squadron will headline the 2021 New York Air Show on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28 and 29, at Orange County Airport in Montgomery.
“We look forward to hosting the Air Show with our partners. I’m proud that Orange County Airport has proven to be a safe and successful venue for this great event,” County Executive Steve Neuhaus said. “The Air Show is a wonderful community event and we are excited to watch the Thunderbirds and the other talented performers.”
Per Neuhaus, the Air Show is being held at Orange County Airport in accordance with current New York State Health Department COVID-19 safety guidelines.
New York Air Show organizers advised that residents in the Montgomery and surrounding areas should expect noise levels to be high at times during the week of the air show. The tentative practice and show schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1 p.m.: Arrival of U.S. Air Force Thunderbird No. 8.
Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1 to 3: p.m.: Survey Flight (six planes).
Thursday, Aug. 26, Morning: Arrival of two F-22 jets; TBD: Arrival of two F-18’s.
Friday, Aug. 27, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Thunderbirds practice (six jets); 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: New York Air Show practice.
Saturday, Aug. 28, and Sunday, Aug. 29, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: New York Air Show
