The Monroe Senior Center celebrated its 25th Anniversary in late June, with a barbecue for its members catered by 876 Jerk Food Truck.
Joining the festivities with Senior Center Director Ann Marie Morris and Supervisor Tony Cardone are former Town Councilmen Don Weeks and Jim Rogers, both whom played an instrumental role in securing funding for the construction of the Senior Center building in 1998.
The Senior Center continues to serve as a hub for activities and socialization for our town’s senior citizen community. The center’s primary goal continues to be providing a balance of social, recreational, educational, health maintenance, economic and financial programs/information to the senior population.
“We are grateful for the efforts of Ann Marie Morris, Senior Center Director, who has built the program from the ground up, beginning 25 years ago,” Cardone said his monthly newsletter. “She continuously seeks ways to improve the center’s offerings, always keeping in mind the best interests of our Seniors. Her dedication and level of care are second to none and we appreciate all she does to ensure the success of the Senior Center.”
