Monroe Clean Sweep
Saturday, April 24 is Operation Clean Sweep Day in the Town of Monroe when volunteers help business owners clean up for spring from 8 a.m. to noon.
This year, the event includes free shredding services and free electronics disposal.
Electronic equipment to be disposed of should be brought to the Monroe Town Highway Department at 87 Mine Road, Monroe.
Documents to be shredded should be brought to the parking lot of St. Anastasia’s Church, 21 N. Main St., Harriman.
Pre-registration as a volunteer is required, due to COVID-19 precautions. Register at www.monroecleansweep.com.
Military banners to be displayed
The Village of Monroe will pay tribute to veterans and active-duty service members by displaying military banners throughout the village from Memorial Day through Veterans Day.
The banners, sponsored by residents in honor of their own past or present service member, are 24”x48” with the service member’s name displayed.
Banners can be ordered through April 22 by visiting www.militarytributebanners.org. Click on Current Programs at the top menu, then select Monroe, NY.
For more information, call Village Hall at 845-782-8341, ext. 123.
