Inspire Foundation to Honor ‘Shining Stars’ of Orange County

— The Inspire Foundation is hosting its Shining Stars Celebration to be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at Villa Venezia in Middletown. Honorees are Suzanne Schindler, and Janet and Tom Sullivan.
Inspire Board Chair Suzanne Schindler will be awarded the Mary Lee Berry Shining Stars Award for Outstanding Service to People with Disabilities. Schindler has been an active member of the Orange County community for many years. She is an advocate for children and adults with disabilities and has dedicated her time and service to many non-profits in the area. With her passion for helping people with special needs and their families, Suzanne exemplifies the mission of Inspire and is a fitting recipient of the Mary Lee Berry Shining Star Award for Service to People with Disabilities.
Janet and Tom Sullivan will be awarded the Bill Devitt Shining Stars Award for Exemplary Community Service to Orange County. Active community members, the Sullivans have been an inspiration to the Orange County Community. For more than 40 years they have supported and volunteered for numerous charitable organizations and in the process have impacted the lives of many.
The celebration will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner. Entertainment will be provided by the well-known, Jon Bates Band featuring Debbie Major. The evening will also feature a silent auction with a variety of baskets and items donated by many local businesses. Tickets begin at $125; many levels of support are available. Proceeds will support Inspire’s programs and services, which support individuals with developmental disabilities. To date, this year’s event is sponsored by The Middletown Elks Lodge, Drake Loeb PLLC, and Dale and Irving Zuckerman.

Inspire is a not-for-profit charitable organization, officially known as Orange County Cerebral Palsy Association, Inc. It provides a wide array of outpatient, educational, and support services for individuals of all ages and abilities. Inspire Kids is a special education preschool for children ages 2 1/2 to five years of age with developmental delays. Inspire also provides Medicaid service coordination, community habilitation, respite, social programs, and more. Through its many programs, Inspire impacts the lives of over 5,500 children and adults annually primarily in Orange County.
