Hospice celebrates silver anniversary
NEWBURGH — Twenty five years in the making, Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. celebrated a milestone on March 23, 2013.
The long awaited season of spring was welcomed with a night of elegance at Anthony’s Pier 9 at the annual spring gala. The Silver Anniversary Ball welcomed 368 guests who came to celebrate the caring, comfort and compassion that Hospice has provided over the last quarter of a century.
The gala committee was chaired by Marilyn D’Ambrosio and Janet Sullivan; Gloria Alisandrella was the special events director.
Another milestone was achieved with record contributions through sponsorships and donation: The gala netted more than $140,000 for the organization, a testament to event hosts Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Homes and William F. Hogan Funeral Home.
Major sponsors included Barton Birks Chevrolet Cadillac, Dr. Robert Dinsmore and The Kaplan Family Foundations.
The mission will continue in both Orange and Sullivan Counties to care for those at the end of life and to give them the quality of life, support and dignity they all deserve.
