You’ve seen his impact through the many students who received scholarships and you’ve seen his impact on the many students who acted in plays during the summer.

You’ve also seen his impact in how he championed the work of noted educator and musician Robert Souza whose name memorializes the scholarship fund.

But recently you might have not seen him around.

Well, Bob Curtis is back and on the mend and last weekend one of the Souza Scholarship past recipients gave him a mini-concert in his backyard.

Alex Prizgintas, local historian and cellist, brought his electrified cello to play Led Zepellin’s “Black Dog,” Brubeck’s “Blue Rondo a la Turk” and Bach’s Prelude from Suite No. 1.

“I was honored to have received numerous scholarships through the Souza Scholarship Foundation," Prizgintas said, "and have waited far too long to thank Bob Curtis personally with a private performance.”
