Harriman. A changing of the guard in the Village of Harriman
The Village of Harriman says farewell to one police chief as it swears in a new one.
Chief Dan Henderson will be leaving the village on Dec. 8 after eight years of dedicated service to Harriman.
“Chief Henderson served as a highly respected example of commitment to the community and his department,” the village said in its announcement detailing the change.
Meanwhile, the Board of Trustees welcomed Patrick Tenaglia as the village’s new Chief at a swearing-in ceremony held Nov. 17, along with his family, friends and colleagues.
Tenaglia began his law enforcement career in the Orange County Sheriff’s Office followed by 13 years in the Village of Monroe where he most recently held the rank of Administrative Sergeant and second-in-command.
The new police chief starts Dec. 9.
“The citizens of Harriman,” Mayor Lou Medina said, “will surely benefit from his leadership.”
