Goshen. Assemblyman Schmitt recognizes G&C Barber Shop as July’s Small Business of the Month
Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (R,C,I- New Windsor) has a small business of the month appreciation program designed to recognize a local small business in his district each month.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this program was put on pause for a couple of months. For the month of July, Assemblyman Schmitt recognized G&C Barber Shop, located at 97 Greenwich Ave. in Goshen.
The shop is owned by two brothers, Gio and Calogero Zodiaco, who immigrated to the United States from Italy and started their own business.
“The story of John and Carl is the epitome of the American Dream,” Schmitt said in the press release announcing the selection. “These two brothers came to the United States from Italy with a vision and through hard work and determination, they accomplished their goals. Despite being totally shut down during COVID they have taken all necessary precautions, re-opened when allowed, and are back to serving our community. I always look forward to coming here to get my haircut and being greeted with the friendly smiles and professionalism from both John and Carl.”
In that same press release, the brothers thanked the assemblyman for the recognition. “It is important to highlight the hard work of small businesses especially now during the ongoing pandemic,” they said. “We are happy to service Goshen and surrounding areas with fresh haircuts.”
