The George Grant Mason School in Tuxedo celebrated International Day of Peace for the twelfth year in a row.
The students created an art and literacy installation with pinwheels “planted” on a peace sign on the lawn.
The ceremony, celebrated on Friday, Sept. 20, included student reflections from grades 1-6 regarding their hopes for peace in the world.
solo rendition of, “Till There Was You” by Jocelyn Colletti and a kindergarten performance of “I’ve Got Peace Like A River,” were highlights of the ceremony.
It is the students hope that an installation like this will heighten awareness of peace for the world.
