Fox 5 Anchor Ernie Anastos to meet Wendy’s customers in Monroe on April 28
MONROE — Fox 5 Anchor Ernie Anastos will appear at the newly remodeled Wendy’s restaurant on Larkin Drive in Monroe om Saturday, April 28, as part of the restaurant’s customer appreciate day event.
Anastos will join his son, Wendy’s franchisee Phillip Anastos, to sign autographs and meet customers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Anastos is an Emmy Award-winning anchor for the FOX flagship station, WNYW-TV in New York. He is also the creator and host of "Positively Ernie," a program which aims to inform and entertain viewers with inspirational stories.
Anastos, who is also an author and columnist, has covered the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, and the deaths of Michael Jackson, Princess Diana and John F. Kennedy Jr.
Anastos met with Fidel Castro in Cuba to produce a series of special reports on the anniversary of the Cuban revolution.
He has also interviewed past U.S. presidents, including Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, as well as former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and Nobel Peace Prize winner and South African Bishop, Desmond Tutu.
Additionally, Anastos has national experience as a news anchor and substitute host for ABC's "Good Morning America" and "The CBS Morning News."
The restaurant will offer a free Junior Frosty, games and special prizes in the main dining room.
In addition to a redesign of the restaurant’s interior, there is now a Wi-Fi bar and a new, self-serve beverage dispenser offering more than 100 customized beverage options.
